Not all websites work the way they are expected to! Regardless of how shocking this might sound, it is the only fact in today’s tech-savvy online market.
A website design is the first thing any visitor notices – the more attractive it is, the better for the relevant business. Websites ideally represent the relevant businesses or brands as explicitly yet as simple as possible.
Digital marketing is the most effective form of marketing in 2023 and by the looks of it, this will not change anytime soon. The main goal of any business is to drive traffic to its website through digital marketing, but with an ineffective website with a bad website design, all your invested time, efforts and funds go in vain.
What can be done if your ineffective website is stopping your business from growing?
No clear message
When visitors land on your website, it is either through digital marketing or after manually searching for something with keywords that match your brand’s offerings. Every business offers something different even if similar to its competitor’s offerings. Thus, your website’s landing page and particularly your homepage must have a clear message about your brand, motto, values, offerings, and more to a target audience. Not to mention, use a website design that allows you to include enough space for content to look neat and stand out.
One or more elements load slowly
A slow-loading website is almost the only cause for a high bounce rate for that website. Reasons for a slow-loading website could be many but the most common is using media that are of bigger sizes or including media with varying sizes (despite being of the same format) across the same page and yet another reason could be an outdated website design that does not support your content that are of more recent formats. The obvious way to fix these issues is to resize, reformat (if needed), and use better-quality content while maintaining top quality.
Using a varying color palette
Most of us can identify the biggest brands through their logo as well as color palette. This is because they see the same color palette across their marketing copies and also anywhere that the colors could be incorporated across their websites. Using a varying color palette everywhere is never a good idea as it is not only harder to come up with different color palettes but it could also likely make it hard for your target audience to identify your brand quickly. A good website design includes a color palette that is not just uniform across your digital marketing copies and website but is in sync with your brand itself.
Website visitors in general very run low on patience to be able to find anything that they are looking for. Once visitors land on your website, they need to be able to quickly find their expected details about any product or service your brand offers. While a menu must have everything that you offer in the right hierarchy, including a search button (text or even voice!) in your website design would help them cut down the time taken to find something. Simple navigation and overall browsing experience are factors that are sure to increase conversions!
If you think that even these steps are not enough to modify your website’s existing design, perhaps it is time for a redesign. Or if creating a new website would be much cheaper, remember to start as soon as possible, so as to not lose more leads.
